A Special Coupon for Mom

   Before Mother’s Day, gather small pieces of cardstock and markers and invite your child to make special wish coupons for Mom.

   Explain that when Mom uses a coupon, you and your child will make the wish on it happen.

   Ask, “When does Mom seem happiest? What does she enjoy doing?” Give your child time to share what they have noticed.

   Choose a few ideas and turn each one into a coupon.

   If your child thinks Mom enjoys a bubble bath, for example, make a Bubble-Bath Time coupon. When she uses it, you can prepare the bath and a small snack so she can relax.

   Let your child draw a picture on each coupon while you add a short description of what the coupon promises.
