- 2
Sit on a couch and support your baby securely under the arms while they face you.
- 3
Rest your baby’s feet lightly on your thighs with their knees naturally bent.
- 4
Say, “Ready—and up!” and lift your baby slowly until their feet leave your legs.
- 5
Lower them gently until both feet rest on your thighs again and the knees bend for the next turn.
- 6
When your baby begins pressing down, follow the push with another lift: “Up you go!”
- 7
Continue for several turns while your baby is engaged and let the push-and-lift rhythm emerge.
