Several close-up family photos showing clothing, hands, or feet without faces. Include more than one pose when possible
Step 1
Whose Clothes Are These?
Find the recent photos of Mom, Dad, and your child in the photo album and look at them together. See whether your child recognizes each person. Then enlarge a photo so only part of the clothing or body is visible and ask whether they can still guess who it is.

Tips
- After enlarging a photo on your phone, save a screenshot so an accidental touch does not reveal the whole picture.
- For a screen-free version, print the photos and fold each one to reveal only the detail you want to show.
- If your child is unsure, point to a matching color or pattern on the person’s clothing and invite another look.
Step 2
Whose Hand Is This?
If the clothing clue is difficult, compare patterns or colors on the photo with what each person is wearing. Then show the close-up hand photos and ask who each one belongs to.

Tips
- You can also include a distinctive visible feature, such as long hair, a birthmark, or another detail your child knows.

Step 3
Whose Feet Are These?
Ask family members to copy the poses shown in the photos, then see whether your child can match each hand or foot with its person.

Tips
- If your child can identify everyone’s hands from their different gestures, add a challenge: have each person copy the pose in the photo, then ask your child to guess again.
- Photograph other familiar belongings too, such as a bag or coat, and ask who usually uses each one.
- After a match, ask, “What helped you know whose hand or foot it was?”
